This book is second reprint, of the earlier
1983 publication by B.S.Ananthaswamy Rao. The kannada translation has been
done directly from, Rabindranath Tagore's Bengali to English translation by
Tagore himself. Tagore's 1913 Noble Prize winning work has been translated into kannada by maintaining its original Bengali flavor and meanings, in V.K.Gokak's words this has been one of the closest translations of Gitanjali into Kannada. The book also contains a copy of rare original hand written poem from Gitanjali by Tagore. |
